Manahau Media is an independent film production company I set up to produce a slate of feature films. We specialise in horror comedy. My first introduction to this genre was Scream and it’s still one of my favourite movies - the combination of genuine jump scares and moments when you can’t help laughing. I love it.
I have spent the last twenty-five years telling stories — just not always on screen. Actually, mostly on PowerPoint, or Google Slides, even 6 page Amazon-style memos. Business transformation, technology change, conversational AI — at its heart all of it is about finding the narrative that brings people with you. I have led complex programmes, built high performing teams, and delivered under pressure.
After attending a summer film school in Prague I wrote, directed and produced Oblivious - a dark comedy short that took an unexpected turn. It had its world premiere at the Iron Mule Festival in Brooklyn, New York, screened at World Fest, Houston where it won a Silver Remi Award for Best International Dark Comedy Short, and won Best International Short Film at the Catalyst Film Festival in Duluth, Minnesota. That gave me a lot of confidence that my business and creative experience could be combined in indie film production.
Bother Up The Glen is a horror comedy set in the Scottish Highlands. A group of estranged friends on a deer stalking weekend — and then it all goes horribly wrong. This project brings together everything I have learned across both careers. A creative voice shaped by a lifelong love of the genre. A festival-proven track record with a debut short. And the delivery discipline of someone who has spent decades executing complex projects under pressure. I am also bringing an AI-powered self-distribution strategy to the release - built on the digital marketing and technology expertise I have developed throughout my professional life.
If you would like to discuss the project or receive the full investor pack, please get in touch.
